The Benefits of Natural Supplements by John Barlow

Natural Supplements - John Barlow

Herbs have been around for millenniums, yes, millenniums, and are considered the oldest supplement in mankind’s history. They have been used for medicinal and health purposes long before we could find anything in a bottle or package.

Some of the most common herbal supplements today include Aloe, Ginger, Chlorrlla and ChlorOxygen. You may know of an application or 2 for one of these herbal supplements, but there are actually quite a few beneficial uses for all of them.

Aloe for example, you probably know can be used to treat skin burns. However, it also is very effective at reducing the pain of canker sores and will shorten the length of their stay. It is also one of the highest antioxidants around and has been used and shown to be effective in some pre-diabetes studies.

Ginger, besides soothing an upset tummy, is also an appetite suppressant. Eat a little before a meal and you’ll be less hungry and your digestive tract will be fired up to work overtime on what you do ingest. Believe it or not, Ginger also has anti-inflammatory properties and can help with mild arthritic flare ups as well, but some in your bath water and you’ll feel the benefits.

Chlorrlla boosts the immune system, is used to treat Crohn's disease and also can help to treat constipation, fibromyalgia, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

Meals on Wheels, By John R. Barlow

Since 1947, Meals on Wheels has been serving warm food to seniors and the underprivileged right at their doorsteps. The U.S. program, which follows similar ones in Great Britain and Australia, now counts up to 1.7 million volunteers among its ranks, and it provides more than 1 million meals to seniors every day. The Board of Directors of the Meals on Wheels Association of America has set a goal to end senior hunger by 2020 by recruiting 6 million people to volunteer their energy to the cause.

The organization plans on accomplishing this lofty goal by relying on its Four Pillars:

1. The National Response to Senior Hunger involves research efforts into senior hunger and efforts to raise awareness in Washington, D.C.

2. The Meals on Wheels Leadership Academy facilitates training for volunteers and scholarships for staff.

3. The National Campaign for Community Impact uses available resources to serve meals and maintain service infrastructure.

4. Capacity Building efficiently dedicates system infrastructure to support member programs around the country.
